The reply in this format..our list of questions with answers whether just one word or more comment appearing question by question. That word document can be downloaded for complete viewing. It's the first of the links provided below captioned sayville ferry question. When it appears this editor's questions are in black, replies are in red from the BRO. Some replies are marked with the letter G. A subsequent email from Leg. Calarco, who sits on the Public Works, Transportation and Energy Committee that has jurisdiction over the proposed rate hikes provides a better reference to the G identified replies.
Add in this information for a complete understanding of the replies from the Budget Review Office
"The ones that refer to George were referred to Legislative Counsel, George Nolan. His answers are as follows:
1) If the ferry company submitted ridership data to BRO in support of their petition, that information is subject to FOIL and can be released.
2) If the ferry company wants to charge a late night fare that is higher than their typical fare, that higher fare should be approved by the Legislature.
3) Charges for freight service should adhere to the schedule approved by the Legislature.
4) Parking fees are not subject to the County’s jurisdiction."
And this editor's thanks on behalf of the public for Leg. Calarco's effort to keep the public fully informed. He generated a request to the BRO to get an answer to our questions when no one else did, and followed up till the end.
